Alley Prototype
Branding, UI/UX design, Prototyping, Art direction, Video Editing.
Alley is a mobile app that derives from an experience I've had while playing basketball. The goal is to present a new way of connecting amateur players with their teams and find local players, tourneys and events to play in and connect with.
An alley is a passageway between two buildings. It's also a place where people can hang a rim and play basketball. Alley is also a play-off the phrase "Alley Ooop", a basketball action where you lob the ball toward the basket setting up your teammate for a dunk or a score. Alley is the assistance you need to connect with others basketball amateur's who share the love of the game.
Design and Direction
During this project, I wanted to focus on building out the app with a strong visual presents that holds the brand style throughout the different pages of the app while being minimal. The logo mark is a play off two passageways coming together to create a portal; that portal is Alley a space to connect with others.
While working through the brand and building the UI library, I wanted to have a stronger connection that showed how deep the game of basketball is. I wanted to use motion to create an empathic response for the promotion; this is where I pivoted and created a promo video.
